Description
Our Online Funeral Celebrant Course instructs students to be able to prepare for and perform a funeral ceremony with the needs of the client family in mind and in a professional and respectful manner.
Some of the topics that will be covered are as follows:
- Client Communication techniques – accurate written and verbal instructions. Listening skills, grief awareness, empathy, confidentiality and respect will be highlighted.
- Designing a service that reflects the wishes of the family, with required elements of ritual and symbolism. Including writing and selecting appropriate material for presentation. Writing the service and writing a eulogy.
- Appropriate resource selection – words, poems, symbols and music
- Ability to relate to people from a range of social, cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds
- Working with funeral directors and other associated professionals within the required protocols.
- Adherence to professional dress standards. Ability to display dignity and solemnity.
- The order of service.
- Dual services – Chapel/Home and graveside.
Each participant will be given a Case Study to write a service for and then will be required to perform that ceremony for assessment via Zoom with your trainer.
