Funeral Courses Australia

To be invited into a family’s grief and entrusted with telling a life story is one of the greatest honours a celebrant can receive. To gently guide the final chapter, to honour a lifetime of love, friendships, achievements and memories — and to create a meaningful farewell that brings comfort and connection — is deeply rewarding work.

If you feel called to serve families in this profound way, Celebrant Training Australia’s three-day intensive Funeral Celebrant Training Course is your pathway to becoming a confident, capable and truly professional funeral celebrant.

Delivered live via Zoom across three consecutive days, this comprehensive course has been designed by qualified Cert IV Trainers and Assessors with many years of real-world industry experience. It meets recognised industry standards to Plan, Present and Evaluate Funeral and Memorial Services and Work Effectively in the Funeral Services Industry — ensuring you graduate with practical, relevant, job-ready skills.

This is hands-on, immersive training. With only four assessment tasks (two completed during the course), you’ll finish fully prepared to:

  • Take a booking call with confidence

  • Compassionately interview a grieving family

  • Prepare a personalised and meaningful service

  • Deliver that service with professionalism, warmth and quiet authority

You won’t just learn theory — you’ll know exactly what funeral directors are looking for in a professional celebrant and how to meet the needs of families with sensitivity and skill.

Each participant receives:

  • A comprehensive hard copy Course Manual

  • A full PDF manual for ongoing reference

  • Ongoing trainer support throughout your learning journey and beyond

Upon successful completion of all assessments, you will have the knowledge, resources and confidence to be recognised as a professional within the funeral industry.

Because we believe in helping you expand your opportunities even further, all participants in our three-day course will also receive a FREE copy of The Ultimate Naming Ceremony Compendium (normally $159 inc. GST). This detailed PDF resource equips you with everything required to confidently interview, prepare and present professional Naming Ceremonies — including forms, sample ceremonies, rituals and readings.

Our live three-day Zoom course is offered only twice a year — Autumn and Spring — and places are limited.

If you’re ready to step into one of the most meaningful roles a celebrant can hold, this is your opportunity to gain the skills, credibility and confidence to serve families at life’s most significant moments.

Secure your place and begin your journey toward becoming a trusted and respected funeral celebrant.

Some feedback:  “Hi Sue & Sheridan, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your exceptional guidance and commitment throughout my journey to become a Funeral Celebrant.  Your willingness to share your experiences have been invaluable.  I feel well prepared to embark on this path thanks to your mentorship.”
Trish Wise, NSW

“Although a Zoom workshop is challenging for some and can have its moments, Sue & Sheridan were engaging, supportive, inclusive, and handled the odd IT issue very well! Their infinite experience in the funeral industry and enthusiasm and willingness to share their experiences will benefit us all. I feel much more confident in approaching funeral homes and hopefully starting my new journey as a funeral celebrant.”
Angela Newbound, SA

“After a crazy couple of weeks and then my return to work after a 3-month hiatus, I have finally finished typing up my assignments ready for submission. With thanks again for a fabulous course. Your enthusiasm and engagement are infectious.”
